Statement of Faith
Our Faith Statement
1. The Scriptures
The Scriptures have their origin in God Himself and are given by the inspiration of God. The Bible is the only book that records the very words of God and is the final authority for faith and life, providing encouragement, guidance, comfort, and instruction to live in righteousness.
2. God the Father
We believe in one true living God, who is a pure spirit whose very essence is love, self-sufficient, omnipresent, omnipotent, immutable, eternal, holy, almighty, and incomprehensible. He is the first person of the Trinity.
3. God the Son
We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. Jesus, the Son of God, became flesh to reveal God to man, became the savior of lost mankind, and fulfilled prophecies. Jesus was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for atonement, was buried, and on the third day, raised bodily from the dead. He physically ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God, and will return in the air to claim His bride, the church. He will come again to earth in bodily form, personally and visibly, to reign in the millennial kingdom.
4. God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who is the divine agent in convicting the sins of men for regeneration (born again). The Holy Spirit imparts new life, baptizes the believer into the body of Christ, and indwells the believer. The Holy Spirit enables believers to bear fruit and gives spiritual gifts.
5. The Godhead (Trinity)
We believe in one true living God, eternally existing in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), each of whom is fully and equally divine, possesses all the divine nature and attributes, and is totally worthy of our worship and service.
6. Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God by the direct act of God in creating Adam and Eve. Man fell through sin by disobeying God, thus incurring both physical and spiritual death and losing the relationship and fellowship with God.
7. Satan
We believe that Satan is the father of all evil. He is a fallen angel who, under the sovereign permission of God, is given temporary rulership of the earth. He was defeated at the cross, and the execution of his judgment will be after the millennial kingdom when he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. Until then, he deceives the world, accuses, attacks, and destroys believers.
8. Salvation
We believe that the atoning death and shedding of the blood of Jesus on the cross is the bedrock and foundation for our salvation. Salvation comes by faith through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, having our sins forgiven and our names written in the Book of Life.
9. Ordinances
We believe that two ordinances, water baptism and the Lord's Supper, are ordained and established by Christ's authority and confirmed by the apostles.
10. Eternal Destiny of Men
We believe in the pre-Tribulational Rapture of the Church.
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of all mankind.
We believe in the judgment of the unrepentant and unsaved, resulting in eternal separation from God in Hell, and the redemption of the saved, resulting in eternal presence with Christ in Heaven.
